Endacopia Trapezist: Misery Town Boss, Fight or Skip

Updated 2026-09-08 · Last verified 2026-09-08 · Steam Endacopia

The Trapezist is a main-line boss of Endacopia and the final boss of Misery Town, the circus-themed region reached by Ferris wheel from the hub. You can settle it two ways: fight it in first-person combat for the achievement Fatal Performance, or cut its ropes with the scalpel and take Cut The Act instead. Both are confirmed by Steam's own achievement descriptions.

Spoiler notice. This page names a boss, its region, and the achievements tied to defeating or avoiding it. If you have not played Misery Town, stop here.

Content warning. Steam's own content descriptor for Endacopia reads: "This game contains scenes of body horror, psychological horror, distressing imagery, blood, violence, death, drugs, and jump-scares." That descriptor covers the whole game. Note that the community wiki attaches a specific content warning block to pages such as The Bride, and does not attach one to the Trapezist article. We are not going to imply body horror where the sources do not record it.

The canonical spelling is Trapezist

Trapezist, with no definite article. This is not our preference, it is the community wiki's own ruling, expressed the way wikis express rulings: through redirects.

On endacopia.fandom.com, both "The Trapezist" and "Circus Girl" exist only as redirects, and both point at a single content article titled Trapezist. The editors additionally tagged Circus Girl as a useless page. Of the 103 main-namespace entries on that wiki, 29 are redirects, and those 29 targets are effectively the wiki's list of canonical names.

This matters because at least one competing Endacopia site still builds its character page on the slug circus-girl. That site is running on an early snapshot of the wiki and has not tracked the renames; it uses four other deprecated names in the same way. If a page calls this character Circus Girl, it has not been updated since the wiki settled the question.

We keep this page's URL as /the-trapezist because that is the form players actually type into search. The name in the prose is Trapezist.

Where the Trapezist sits: Misery Town

The Trapezist belongs to Misery Town, one of the three main regions of Endacopia alongside Timesville and The Office. Two points about that region are worth stating plainly, because they are frequently reported wrong.

First, Misery Town is circus and carnival themed. Its documented contents are clowns, mimes, a pierrot, a whack-a-clown stall, a clown cinema, a train and the interior of a giant clown head. One aggregator site describes it as "a decaying suburban landscape". That description is false and is contradicted by every clown-themed sub-area the community wiki records. See Misery Town for the region breakdown.

Second, the hub area that connects the three regions is called "the green place" on the community wiki, recorded in the location field of both the Timesville and Misery Town infoboxes. It is not called "Green Hills". That name appears on one competing site and nowhere in the source material. Misery Town is reached from the green place by Ferris wheel.

Misery Town is also where Mellow recovers his hands. Endacopia's premise, in Steam's own words, is a boy "who has lost all his senses"; the three main regions each restore one, with the eyes in Timesville and the mouth in The Office. Since the Trapezist is the region's final boss, clearing it is bound up with that recovery.

Steam's official feature list confirms you can "decide which area to explore next in whichever order you'd like", and the community wiki's Chapter I page independently states that any of the three main bosses can be fought. There is no fixed order, so the Trapezist is not necessarily your first or last main boss.

The Trapezist among the bosses

The community wiki's Bosses page, at roughly 10,000 bytes one of the site's larger articles, splits the roster into two groups. The Trapezist is in the first.

The eight side or hidden bosses are a separate class: Yew, The Mug, Chimeramanticore, Benjamin, the Underground Fighters (a four-member group in the Gambling Den, of whom only MatchBOXER and a second fighter called Tuna are confirmed by name), the Clown Crawler and God. Two of those overlap with the Trapezist's home region. Benjamin is found on the upper level to the right of the Pierrot stall in Misery Town and only opens combat if you interact using the touch action, and the Clown Crawler is inside the clown head. Neither is the region's final boss; the Trapezist is. Full breakdown on the bosses page and the roster on characters.

Only three main bosses carry a matched fight-or-skip achievement pair, and the Trapezist is one of them. That pairing is the single most useful thing to know about this encounter.

Fatal Performance and Cut The Act

Both descriptions below are Steam's official achievement text, pulled from the global stats page on 8 September 2026. The unlock rates are Steam global figures from the same pull.

AchievementOfficial Steam descriptionGlobal unlock rate (8 Sep 2026)Hidden on Steam
Fatal Performance"Defeated the Trapezist in battle."57.1%No
Cut The Act"Avoided battling the Trapezist."23.5%No

To fight it, use Endacopia's standard combat: first-person, bare fists, with block, dodge and punch, against HEALTH and STAMINA bars. That much is confirmed twice over, by Steam's own feature list ("Use Mellow's bare fists to block, dodge, and punch monsters in first person perspective") and by the community wiki. What the Trapezist actually does in that fight, how many phases it has, what its tells are, how much damage it takes, is not documented by any source we accept. We are not going to reconstruct it. Any page giving you frame windows or phase counts for an Endacopia boss is inventing them.

To skip it, use the scalpel to cut the ropes. The scalpel is obtained from the Whack-a-Clown minigame in Misery Town, and it is the same item used to cut open the Patient inside the clown head. It is one of the roughly twenty items scattered across the wiki that the items page collects, most of which the community wiki's own Items article never lists.

The community wiki's Bosses page makes a broader argument worth quoting, because the achievement data supports it: "combat is not a focus of Endacopia whatsoever, as someone in a first playthrough could reasonably skip nearly every single boss (including main bosses, minus Clockey) without any combat." That is a single-source claim, but it is internally consistent with the numbers.

What the unlock rates actually say

Fatal Performance at 57.1% is the second most unlocked achievement in the entire game, behind only Achievement Unlocked ("Clicked the poster") at 66.1%. It also sits above the equivalent achievements for the other two main bosses, No Strings Attached for the Chameleon at 50.5% and System Override for the AI at 49.1%.

Read the fight and skip rates side by side and a pattern falls out: 57.1 / 50.5 / 49.1 for fighting, against 23.5 / 23.8 / 19.4 for avoiding. Most players fight, despite the game not requiring it. The Trapezist is fought more often than either of the other two.

Two honest caveats. These are live Steam figures that move; treat the date on them as load-bearing. And the two Trapezist achievements are not mutually exclusive, since a player can fight on one run and skip on another, so adding 57.1% and 23.5% together tells you nothing about how many players have reached Misery Town. Full table on achievements.

The Trapezist and Ending C

If you are chasing Ending C, the secret ending tied to the hidden achievement Stay, the Trapezist matters as a boundary rather than as a fight.

Three sources agree that Ending C requires completing a stretch of hidden content in each of Misery Town, Timesville and The Office, and that the route requires pushing each region's progress to the boss's door before engaging that region's boss. In Misery Town that boss is the Trapezist. Whether you then fight it or cut the ropes is not documented as affecting Ending C either way. Route details, and the genuine source conflict over whether Ending C requires finishing Endings A and B first, are on Ending C.

What no source documents

The community wiki's Trapezist article is mid-sized, sitting well below the pages for The Surgeon, the Bosses list, the Endings page, The Chameleon and Misery Town. It is not a stub, but it is not a deep article either, and the facts on it that survive cross-checking against Steam are the ones on this page.

The following are not recorded by any source we accept, and you should distrust any site that states them:

  • The Trapezist's real name, origin or relationship to any other character
  • Its appearance in detail, its dialogue, or its gender. The deprecated redirect "Circus Girl" is not evidence, since the wiki's own editors discarded that title
  • Its moveset, phase structure, attack timings or health values
  • Where exactly the rope-cutting prompt appears, or how many ropes there are
  • Any patch number that changed the encounter. Steam exposes no version field for Endacopia and the community wiki records none

When we can verify any of that against a primary source, we will add it with the date. Until then the record stops here, and saying so is the point of this page.

Update log

  • 8 September 2026: Page created and verified. Canonical spelling settled against the community wiki's redirect structure. Achievement names, descriptions and global unlock rates pulled live from Steam on this date. Boss classification taken from the community wiki's Bosses page, seven main-line against eight side or hidden. Corrected two claims in circulation: Misery Town is circus themed rather than suburban, and the hub is "the green place" rather than "Green Hills". Moveset, appearance and backstory recorded as undocumented rather than guessed.

Frequently asked questions

Is it Trapezist or The Trapezist in Endacopia?

Trapezist, with no article. The community wiki at endacopia.fandom.com holds both "The Trapezist" and "Circus Girl" as redirects pointing at the single article titled Trapezist, and its editors marked Circus Girl as a useless page. That redirect structure is the closest thing to an official ruling on the spelling, so Trapezist is the form this wiki uses.

How do you skip the Trapezist fight in Endacopia?

Cut its ropes with the scalpel instead of fighting. The scalpel is obtained from the Whack-a-Clown minigame in Misery Town and is the same tool used on the Patient inside the clown head. Skipping the fight unlocks the achievement Cut The Act, whose official Steam description is "Avoided battling the Trapezist." Fighting instead unlocks Fatal Performance.

Where is the Trapezist in Endacopia?

In Misery Town, the circus and carnival themed region reached by the Ferris wheel from the hub area the community wiki calls "the green place". The Trapezist is documented as the final boss of that region. Misery Town is also where Mellow recovers his hands, one of the three senses lost at the start of the game.

Is the Trapezist a main boss or a side boss?

A main-line boss. The community wiki's Bosses page separates seven main-line bosses from eight side or hidden ones, and the Trapezist is one of the seven, alongside Clockey, The AI, The Chameleon, Henry, RODGER and Toilet Parasite. The side and hidden group includes Benjamin and the Clown Crawler, which are also found in Misery Town.

How many players beat the Trapezist?

As of 8 September 2026, Steam's global statistics put Fatal Performance at 57.1% and Cut The Act at 23.5%. Fatal Performance is the second most unlocked achievement in the whole game, behind only Achievement Unlocked at 66.1%. These are live figures that drift, and the two Trapezist achievements are not mutually exclusive across separate playthroughs.

What does the Trapezist look like and what is its backstory?

No source we accept documents either. The community wiki's Trapezist article is a mid-sized page, and the facts that survive cross-checking are its region, its role as a main boss and its two achievements. Its moveset, phases, dialogue and origin are not recorded anywhere we can verify, and we will not invent them.
